LOGISTICS

Generalities

In order to effectively carry out in complete autonomy the missions with which it has been entrusted, the INTRA Group is equipped with technical and life support resources grouped together under the general heading of “LOGISTICS”.

The logistics equipment consist of :

  • The Mobile Control Post (PCM),
  • The Fixed Control Post (PCF),
  • The mobile decontamination and radio-protection equipment,
  • The mobile workshops and stores,
  • Equipment for personnel transport and catering, and vehicle transportation,
  • Equipment required for operating personnel clothing and survival on the work site

Workshop

> General Description
AMF (Cold Maintenance Workshop)
AMC (Hot Maintenance Workshop)

> The workshops and the warehouse
In order to provide maintenance and breakdown services, the maintenance team is provided with a warehouse truck containing spare parts, two tanker trailers containing 1,000 litres of Diesel and fuel and a workshop van for 1st level operations.

Two fixed station workshop shelters, equipped with NBC ventilation systems and an independent power supply are provided for 2nd level maintenance operations. They are the Cold Maintenance Workshop (AMF) for non-contaminated equipment and the Hot Maintenance Workshop (AMC) for contaminated equipment.

Miscellaneous

> The Command Posts

  • Groupe INTRA stand-by and crisis management personnel mobilisation operations are carried out from the Fixed Control Post (PCF).
  • A Mobile Control Post (PCM) provides facilities for the Intervention Leader (RI) so as to remain in contact with all the participants.
  • The Control Posts are equipped with the necessary communication equipment.

> Life Trailer

The interventions are carried out by several teams who alternate every 4 hours during the day. A trailer is equipped with rest and catering facilities for the teams on the site. In its rear section, this trailer also transports the indoor robots and common logistics equipment (Working and safety equipment, clothing, refreshments, food, ...etc).

Transportation

The vehicles are transported to the incident site by a fleet of transportation devices.
When intervening on a site, INTRA sub-contracts the personnel transport operations and the provision of tractors and drivers required for moving its vehicles.

The transport equipment comprises :

  • 4 "Kaiser" detachable swan-neck trailers for the ERASE and the ERELT vehicles and
  • 1 "Lévèque" tipping platform trailer for the VERI II B.
  • 1 specially modified 4 x 4 vehicle is used for changing drivers on the public work vehicles (CAT 973 and EPPB) and
  • 1 unmarked 4 x 4 vehicle is used for site deliveries.

The INTRA Group also has :

  • 2 38t trailer trucks units and
  • 1 6 x 4 heavy tractor coupled to a 70t capacity trailer for transporting public works vehicles.
In theory, this equipment is reserved for back-up requirements and is not used in site interventions.

Radioprotection and decontamination supports

The decontamination equipment enables the vehicles to be protected against any possible radioactive contamination before carrying out a mission and to clean or decontaminate them on their return from a mission. Individual and mobile protection equipment is supplied to the participants in order for them to monitor radiation and contamination levels.

The parameters are continuously monitored by equipment installed in all the Command or Driving shelters.
